Open to new Clients: Yes

Karen is a qualified integrative counsellor registered with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. She works with young adults (18+) and adults, offering a compassionate, person‑centred approach grounded in the BACP ethical framework.

Her work is underpinned by humanistic principles that emphasise the importance of the therapeutic relationship. She focuses on the whole person and draws on her experience in Gestalt Therapy, helping clients develop awareness of their feelings, behaviours, and patterns in order to deepen self-understanding. She also incorporates elements of attachment theory, Transactional Analysis, and CBT techniques to respond effectively to the themes clients bring.

Karen has significant experience supporting individuals who have experienced sexual trauma, child abuse, and domestic violence, and she works with a trauma‑informed perspective to help clients navigate the impact of these experiences. She has also spent many years working with people living with long‑term neurological conditions, bringing this specialist understanding into her practice. In addition, she works with clients on issues such as stress, anxiety, low self‑esteem, grief and loss, identity, and family dynamics.

She is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and non‑judgemental environment where clients can explore the areas of their lives that feel challenging, helping them move toward greater clarity, resilience, and wellbeing.
